The LEGO Robotics workshops that we run enables the young people to learn about robotics by designing and building robots using the LEGO® MINDSTORMS® robot set and programming the robot to undertake challenges.
Each year we enter the FIRST LEGO league challenge, which is sponsored in Ireland by SAP. This is a robotics program for 9 to 16 year olds, which is designed to get children excited about science and technology. The work involves programming an autonomous robot (using the LEGO® MINDSTORMS® robot set) to score points on a thematic playing surface and creating an innovative solution to a problem as part of their project, all while being guided by the FLL Core Values. These three elements – the Robot Game, Project, and FLL Core Values – make up what is called the yearly Challenge.
Scratch is a visual programming application, developed by MIT Media Lab. It uses language that is accessible to everybody making it playful and fun. More and more schools use Scratch to teach math and programming to young people. Here at Clubhouse we create interactive stories, games and animations.
BLOG & WEB DESIGN
With the Technology and Internet advancing, creating a blog or a website became possible even to young. We have introduced blog/web design to our members. The idea was to show how the internet could be a great way to be creative but also a platform where even a 10 year old can speak his mind. Some of young people went as far as creating their youtube channel and connecting it with their blog and creating their own logo (Mark Chovgan). Please visit links below. And if care enough give them a bit of support and leave a comment
