I’ve been mentoring at the Clubhouse for the past 6 years and I found the atmosphere addictively electric and eclectic! I’ve often dragged myself to the front door after a hard day/week and found myself bouncing and laughing my way back down the road after a session. Not only does it give a great feel good factor, but it’s a brilliant way to get involved and network with a vast amount of different people and organisations.

I’ve joined Clubhouse as a volunteer in November 2013 and although was my first time I was volunteering, I felt warmly welcomed from the first day. It’s incredible the resources the kids have access to – it makes the Clubhouse a great environment for self development and group projects, but also a place with a lot of creativity and fun. Even the maths classes 🙂

Volunteer Mentor

A Clubhouse newbie, I’m an engineer and web designer. At the Clubhouse though, I’m a Java tutor, assistant robot builder, just-in-time LEGO parts delivery system manager, password-deviner, willing dogsbody and student of Mr. K’s command of the command prompt. And that was just my first week!  Loving the happy chaos and creative energy that is the Clubhouse community

Jane Courtney

Jane Courtney

Volunteer Mentor

Besides being a part-time, pink, perfumed pirate, Jane also nurses a full time maths addiction. This has not been helped at The Clubhouse where she has been seen carousing with some shady, mathemagical buccaneers. In fact, it has escalated to some dubious lego robotics shenanigans and other techie carry-on. She really ought to get back to some nice wholesome looting and pillaging. Aaar, matey!

I started attending The SWICN Clubhouse 12 years ago at the age of eight with a great interest In Photoshop, photography and multimedia. I then enrolled into a college course to further expand my skills in photography and Photoshop. Following this, I completed a Youth and community course to get an understanding of youth work. I recently joined The SWICN Clubhouse team where I am now able to share my skills with the young people while I run various projects including Lego League.
